holy #$%^ everybody should read this
Above is a recording of my thesis defense. It explores 'Destination Development' (DDev) programs, specifically to clarify details about where they came from and what programming components they include.Â
DDev seems to operate as a key model for how Regional, State, or National entities can most effectively help support subsidiary tourism areas to develop successful tourism systems.
Practical Points
This is 'Community Development' through tourism expertise.
Many tourism resources don't have 'Tourism' in the name. DMOs need to identify these and deliver them to stakeholders.
Development, Marketing, and Management are a triad of distinct activities. None can be neglected.
